Harlow Group, LTD will spend $8 million to expand its operations to Danville.

The company will construct a 30,000 square-foot facility in the Danville Cyberpark, employing 49 workers over the next 5 years.

Gov. Ralph Northam said the company will pay a wage that is “about $20,000 higher than the area average.” The company will pay an average annual wage of $55,000.

The company makes parts for the airplane, automotive and other industries. The operation is based in the UK and is an advanced manufacturer of assembles, fabrications and precision metal work to some of the best-known companies in the world.

Harlow’s president said he first visited the city two years ago at the urging of then-governor Terry McAuliffe and fell in love with the region. He said Harlow chose Danville and Pittsylvania County because of the beauty of the region and the precision machining program in the schools, Danville Community College and the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research.
